Scrap Shotz's Industry Insider Crop

One of my favorite manufacturers is Pink Paislee. Gosh, I just love their papers - the gorgeous designs, the cool accents, the funky alphas ... and there are versions of pink which is perfect for my two gregarious girls!

So it was no surprise when Scrap Shotz's Industry Insider crop that I picked Pink Paislee as my manufacturer. Here is the challenge I posted at Scrap Shotz.

Here is my layout

And a couple of close-ups too

In case you cannot read the journaling, it reads as follows:

Although these lovey dovey moments are infrequent, you two, despite your declarations, love each other and consider each other BFFs. As your Mom, I am so grateful...because you guys are all you have! So get along and be there for each other...no matter what (just because I said so!) Can you try to be lovey more often...just to make me happy? (Summer 2008)

Scrap Shotz Gives Back

One of the things I love most about Scrap Shotz's online crops is the challenge where Scrap Shotz makes a donation to a fantastic Canadian charity. For this Industry Insider crop, Scrap Shotz is donating $5 for every layout or card made for the I Love That Manufacturer Challenge.

Here is my layout - I must say that I love so many manufacturers but Basic Grey just happened to match my photos the best (and most importantly, it was easy to find!)

These are the best pictures I have ever taken but they mean alot to me - it's proof that my family humours me and hears me! I insist almost every night after dinner during the summer that we go for a family walk. Yes there are lots of moans and groans but we almost always end up going...and these pictures are the proof! Thanks family!

Project 365

With the exception of 2 days, I have managed to take a picture every day! It's been so fun! Let me share some more pictures...

Day 16/Jan 16
Some flowers given to me by two very dear friends, Tracey and Jacquie! Thank you ladies for understanding always and being there for me - I cannot thank you enough!

Day 17/Jan 17
Impromptu photo shoot of Madison...still learning the ins and outs of my new camera. Will I ever learn everything? I doubt it but it sure is fun experimenting. This is what 9 yrs old looks like!

Day 18/Jan 18
An unseasonably warm day in January. Yes, those are Danielle's pajamas - we love pajama days! Here Danielle is collecting ice crystals from Shoveller Mommy. And Picker Danielle collects all the crystals and buries them in her crystal field.

Day 19/Jan 19
I just HAD to take a picture of Danielle sleeping. Honestly, how can someone be so busy and playful and hilarious during the day and look like an angel snoring away at night??? I ask this question every single day! LOL

Day 20/Jan 20
A historic day for everyone. Although I am a Canadian, I value and am excited about the political change and energy for the United States on this day.

I Am Still Pinching Myself!

Yesterday I was surprised by the most lovely call from Christine Campbell, owner and the designer genius behind Black River Designs. She called to tell me that I was selected to join the first Design Team for Black River Designs! I am so excited, so shocked and so so SO honoured to be a part of this team. The team members are so talented and so inspiring. I am thrilled to bits!

And if you haven't seen the delish products from Black River Designs, go grab a coffee or a glass of wine and head on over to their website and blog. Let me say that their rub ons are AMAZING! They go on so easily! Their papers...wowsers! I love the cool designs and awesome colours; everything is so versatile...and I absolutely love that!

Thanks Christine for this amazing honour and opportunity! And a huge Congratulations to all the other gals on the Design Team! I look forward to getting to know you all!

I Still Can't Believe It's True!

On Tuesday morning, I got up at the wee crack of dawn to attend my appointment at the Cast Clinic. *yawn* I am still tired from getting up so early! After my doctor/surgeon examined me, it looks like I will not need surgery at this time to repair the torn achilles tendon. I could not believe it! After all the challenges I have had this year, this was good news! It was REALLY good news!

Right now I am working on some general stretching and range of motion exercises for the tendon. As well, I am gradually removing the wedges in the cair cast so my tendon is in extension. Then I can start some gentle walking on the foot. At present, I am testing the strength of the tendon to see how much weight it will hold. Yes, I am scared it will rupture again but I am having faith that it will just be fine!

Thanks for all the emails and for dropping by!

A Mid-Month Challenge at Scrap Shotz

This month, my challenge at Scrap Shotz is create either a layout or card with something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. Something old would be using products that are older than 6 months. Something new would be products you just bought *wink* Something borrowed could be an item borrowed from a friend (ie. punch) or a technique or a sketch. And something blue is well, blue!

Here is my layout!

Supplies: Close to my Heart (cardstock - blue); Bazzill (cardstock - yellow); Basic Grey (pattern papers, die cuts, rubs, alphas); Prima (gem)

I hope to see alot of your projects! Thanks for dropping by!

It's Team B's Reveal at My Sketch World

Lucy Chesna whips up amazing sketches for My Sketch World. She has sketches twice a month for both layouts and cards - Lucy, I don't know how you do it! Hats off to you! If you need some inspiration or just want to try something a little different, run to My Sketch World!

Here is my interpretation of Lucy's mid-month layout sketch:

Supplies: Close to my Heart (cocoa cardstock); Basic Grey (pattern papers, rubs, alphas, die cuts); Glitz Designs (gems); Evalicious (quote bubble); Making Memories (mini alphas)

And we all know what happened to me last month...uh huh, the now infamous achilles tendon rupture! I never had a chance to post about the May mid-month layout sketch...so here it is!

Supplies: Basic Grey (pattern papers, alphas, tag); Fiskars (border punch); Savvy n Sassy (yellow ribbon); Cuttlebug (large butterfly dies); Spellbinders (small butterfly die); Versamagic (jumbo java chalk); Close to my Heart (red gems)

Thanks for stopping by!

Have I "Captivating" Your Attention?

No, there is no grammatical error in my title?

Do you know what I am writing about?

You know I love riddles and this is a really easy one too!

How about a picture? Does this help at all???

Do you wanna win this?

If so, all you have to do is let everyone know via your blog that Scrap Shotz is having another of their fabulous online crops on May 29, 30 and 31st. Once you have posted on your blog, leave a comment on the Scrap Shotz blog and link me to your blog. At the end of the month (ie. May), I will draw for a winner of some Captivating goodies. Pretty easy, eh? (You will receive the whole line of papers and 3 embellies!)

Can it get any easier than that?

So How Was Your Mother's Day?

I had a great day here! If you can believe it, I slept in until 800 am, yup! And then the girls brought me their cards, some handmade and some purchased (LOL)...but it was receiving my very much wanted immersion blender that made me squeal! Yes, I have wanted an immersion blender for awhile. I like to make soups and I like the soups to be rustic smooth; is that an oxymoron? I like the soup to be thick, kinda smooth but some chunks here and there...and that's what the immersion blender does!

Here I am, first thing in the morning! LOL Morning hair...pajamas that have been cut up to fit over the cast and not looking my best! So why is it that when your husband takes a picture of you, you don't look great but he wants the best side to be in the picture????

It's Reveal Day at Scrap Shotz

It's been a crazy busy weekend and it's going to be an even crazier busier week ahead!

The June kit at Scrap Shotz is a very "Fetching" from Pink Paislee. OMG the kit was fantastic and oh so easy to work with - I literally mean the papers and accessories go with every type of photo that I could think of!

Thanks for letting me share my work with the June kit...

First up is a very favorite picture of mine...my neice, Emma with Danielle. They are only a few months apart and get along famously. They both have amazingly beautiful smiles and I wanted a layout to celebrate their adorable friendship.

These fun pictures were taken in Fernie in March! There was still snow on the ground and we were able to ski during the day but in the late afternoon, we enjoyed the swimming pool and the hot tub!

A fun layout about Madison. We are in a very moody phase with her and I just don't know what to do???? If you have suggestions, let me know!!! She is either grumpy or super happy like these photos...and I wanted her to know that if she smiles, we'll all smile right back at her!

This layout is quite simple for me but is nonetheless very special to me. Being called Mom is an honour but somedays I don't want to hear my name called anymore! LOL

And here is a very sweet picture of my two girls taken during a fun family walk in the summer. The title is a direct quote of Danielle - she always tells people, "She's my Sister!"

And a couple of fun cards to share...

Thanks for dropping by and letting me share!
